Xtreme Productivity Gymnastics Nationals 2025 Recap

Partnership in action: Xtreme Productivity Gymnastics Nationals 2025

ARTICLE ⋅ 3 MINS READ

The Xtreme Productivity Gymnastics Nationals started with a common purpose between two leaders: to better serve their communities.

Andrea Nelson, CEO of Gymnastics New Zealand, leads their organisation with the purpose of enabling positive gymnastics experiences for everybody.

Christi Moller, Managing Director of Xtreme Productivity, believes that positive change in nonprofits can be made possible by people and technology working together.

And that is exactly what XP Gymnastics Nationals 2025 achieved. It was the intersection of people, technology, and gymnastics to create positive experiences for everybody.

We saw this happen in multiple ways:

  • On-the-ground tech and IT support
  • Judges equipped with the right technology
  • Rebranding of the whole event
  • A digital event timetable
  • Team bonding between the XP & GNZ teams
  • Discussions around the future of gymnastics

The impact

Technology made people’s lives easier and created better experiences for the gymnastics community. Here’s how:

The judges: Administration time and effort were cut down, with new tablets speeding up the scoring. We heard one of the judges say that “now we have time for water, since scoring is real-time because of the tablets XP provided.”

The GNZ community: Everybody loved the newly designed live timetable from XP. Parents and coaches were saying, “We used to have to walk from far from here to there to find out where something was.”

Now, with the new live timetable, it was easy to see what was happening where at what time, with a holistic overview of the events.

A member of the GNZ community said that “The event was a "well-oiled," seamless delight to watch.”

The live timetable made following all five codes easier than ever for parents, supporters, and teams. Nicole Garey, head of Business Development at XP, said, “This is what innovation looks like in action.”

Volunteers & event management team: more visibility of where people needed to be. No more flipping between eight different PDFs to find out who needs to be at what event. No more printing out PDFs and updating them manually by writing on them. Streamlined technology made the behind-the-scenes management easier.

It was awesome to see the Gymnastics New Zealand team so calm and collected with everything, running full tilt – and making it all look effortless.

(Shoutout to Belinda Randall, Megan Russel, and Jenny Jujnovich) for all the hard work they put into the event.

Rebranding

The XP and GNZ teams worked together to create a brand that was unique to nationals.

The colours, iconography, and logo all represent what XP Gymnastics Nationals means. The extended visual language of the iconography represents the breadth of apparatus for Gymnastics New Zealand’s five Gymsports!

The GNZ community loved the rebrand:

“Hot rebrand! I love how GYM stands out... we often just refer to gymnastics as 'gym' in our family, so we can relate! And then having the fern as the connector.”

This rebrand is intended to raise the profile of the sport. Make the nationals a continuous annual experience for the athletes, something to strive for, and part of a larger, unique brand – one that ties back to gymnastics itself and not just the place where the athletes compete that year.

Team bonding

Not only were the XP Gymnastics Nationals a time for bonding between the athletes, but it was a bonding time for the team behind the scenes.

In the spirit of true partnership, the XP team and GNZ team spent a lot of time together throughout the week.

It started at the opening ceremony. Tyler and Denise from Te Kawerau Iwi Tiaki Trust opened with Karakia and gave a whakatau welcome. This made the XP team feel very welcome and also gave a good grounding for all the nerves and hopes of the participants.

Then, Andrea opened the event and welcomed Christi to the podium, where he said “It’s always a privilege and honour to be part of such an amazing event. I want to wish all the athletes, coaches, parents, judges the best of luck. Have fun! This experience will last a lifetime. Make sure you take in every second of this event.”

For some of the XP staff, it was their first time attending a gymnastics event. They were quite impressed with the level of athletes. They said “we’re blown away by the depth of passion and commitment from the Gymnastics NZ staff and volunteers. The resilience of the athletes is next level. The things they do are incredible, and the way they keep getting back up is inspiring.”

Christi Moller said that “I think Thursday was the best team-building event ever. A day in the life of our clients not only builds the relationship with the people within their organisation but also with each other in XP. We had so much fun!”

We had the opportunity to get to know our clients better. We quite literally stepped into their shoes for the week. This enabled us to have a better understanding of what they do and how they work, so we can think innovatively about the technology that would best support them. Last year, we came up with the digital live timetable idea, and we definitely have some thoughts in store about next year's technology innovations for the event.

To sum it up...

The XP Gymnastics Nationals 2025 was more than an event. It was a demonstration of how people and technology can come together to create meaningful experiences. With Gymnastics New Zealand and Xtreme Productivity continuing their partnership, the future of gymnastics looks bright, connected, and innovative. We can’t wait to see what Tauranga 2026 brings!

Don’t miss it!

The 2026 Xtreme Productivity Gymnastics Nationals is happening in Tauranga at Baypark Arena (you’ll want to be there).
