How Table Tennis New Zealand Transformed Their Finances with XP

Client Profile

Table Tennis New Zealand (TTNZ) is the national governing body for table tennis in Aotearoa. They support players, clubs, and regional associations through development programmes, coaching resources, and competitive pathways - from grassroots participation to elite performance. Their vision is to make table tennis a sport for all, for life, and they’re succeeding: table tennis is one of the most accessible sports in the country.

With a small but dedicated team, TTNZ oversees national programmes, events, and funding streams while ensuring compliance, governance, and transparency across their operations.

Challenge

As TTNZ grew, so did the complexity of their finances. Event-level budgeting and multiple funding sources added layers of detail that their old systems couldn’t support. Admin took time away from strategy and impact.

TTNZ needed a partner who could work alongside their team, understand the nuances of a national sporting body, and offer clarity and support year-round.

Solution

To solve this challenge, XP provided a custom finance solution which provided:

  • Audit preparation
  • On-call finance support
  • Xero Implementation
  • Payroll & Reconciliations

The Outcome

Xtreme Productivity partnered with TTNZ to deliver financial transformation tailored to the realities of a busy nonprofit. Our approach focused on:

  • Streamlining financial operations: Introducing automation to reduce manual admin and speed up approvals, freeing up the team to focus on what matters.
  • Enhancing clarity and accountability: Improving financial tracking and reporting, making it easier for TTNZ to monitor budgets and share insights with their board.
  • Simplifying payroll and reconciliations: Moving to a unified, cloud-based system for confidence in day-to-day processes and compliance.
  • Supporting audit readiness: Working closely with TTNZ to ensure robust documentation and digital trails, making their audit a smooth experience.
  • Empowering strategic decision-making: Providing accurate reports and forecasting tools so TTNZ’s leadership can plan for the future with confidence.
Waleed from Xtreme Productivity offering financial support for nonprofits

Expert financial support for nonprofits.

Table Tennis New Zealand didn’t just need tools; they needed a solution tailored to how they operate. XP combined financial best practice with real-world nonprofit experience.

We created a system that works for people, not just processes.

Izania, CEO of Table Tennis NZ, sums it up perfectly:

We have just gone through our full audit and it was quite the process, Waleed guided that expertly and both him and Aditi worked diligently to get everything done in a very tight timeframe. I hope there is an employee of the year award or something that Waleed could be nominated for as that’s what I would be giving him if it were up to me.

“I just wanted to take the time to share my appreciation for Waleed and Aditi [from the XP finance team] for all their support and hard work, and especially for Waleed’s expertise for myself and my team this year. They have really become an extension of our team, and we truly appreciate them.”

XP Helps Table Tennis NZ Streamline Finances with Xero.

This partnership meant TTNZ could focus on their amazing mission, knowing their finances were in expert hands. The audit process, once daunting, became manageable and even empowering, thanks to the collaborative approach and tailored support from XP.

Working with TTNZ was a true partnership. We saw a team deeply committed to their mission, and our goal was to make their financial systems as strong as their passion for the sport.
